When Hunter Henry tore right knee ACL on May 22 in the Los Angles Chargers' OTAs, the season was supposedly lost for the talented young tight end.

However, less than eight months later, Henry is active and ready to play against the New England Patriots in the AFC divisional playoff round.

Henry was drafted by the Chargers with the 35th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. In his first two seasons, Henry caught a total of 81 passes for 1,057 yard and 12 touchdowns. He was slated to make a big impact for Los Angles with the team planning to move on from franchise legend, Antonio Gates, who ended up returning to the Chargers after Henry's injury.

Christ Mortensen of ESPN reported that despite not being able to play, after surgery and his initial physical therapy, “Henry was pretty much at every meeting, walk-through and practice hoping this day would come.”

Despite missing their young offensive weapon, the Chargers thrived this season. The Bolts went 12-4 during the regular season, but won the wild card because the Kanas City Chiefs won the AFC West.

The Chargers look to get revenge on the Patriots, who have twice knock Phillip Rivers and the Chargers out of the playoffs.

If Los Angles does win, they'll face off with the Chiefs for the third time this season. Kansas City defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-13 in the divisional round.

The Chiefs defeated the Chargers in week 1, 38-28, but the Chargers stuck back in Week 15, winning 29-28, and now they have their 24-year-old tight end back in the lineup.
