The Los Angeles Chargers have ushered in a quarterback competition this offseason with Tyrod Taylor and Justin Herbert. It appears tight end Hunter Henry is anxious to see which he will be receiving passes from in the 2020 NFL season.

Hunter Henry acknowledged during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he is impressed with what he has seen from Herbert leading up to becoming the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft:

“He’s got a great arm. Obviously, he went first round, sixth pick for a reason,” Henry said about Herbert. “He’s very, very talented. Obviously, the mental side of the game will be the biggest thing.”

Of course, Hunter Henry its still confident that Taylor is the right man for the job.

“Big believer in Tyrod, too, so I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s going to bring to us this year,” Hunter Henry said.

The comments indicate that that Hunter Henry is pleased to see that the Chargers have managed to shore up a surplus of talent under center. Although the restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have prevented players from getting properly acquainted with their new teammates, it will only be a matter of time before each receiver ultimately develops an opinion on the potential starter.

Of course, Hunter Henry has much bigger concerns to prioritize at the moment. While has has showed plenty of promise as a viable weapon in the passing game since being taken in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, there are still concerns about his durability.

As a result, Los Angeles opted to place a franchise tag on Hunter Henry this offseason with the hope that he can earn a lucrative payday.
