The Los Angeles Chargers are getting a look at their first-round pick on Sunday, against the New Orleans Saints. According to ESPN's Eric Williams, defensive tackle Jerry Tillery is suited up for pre-game work and is expected to play snaps. He previously didn't play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1.

Tillery dealt with a torn labrum (shoulder) in his final season at Notre Dame. He received surgery on his shoulder and spent most of the offseason recovering from it.

However, Tillery got back onto the field in pads to make the first day of training camp on July 25.

“We have a great training staff here and my rehab has gone really well,” Tillery said last week, per NFL.com's Logan Reardon. “I'm feeling great and moving even better.”

Recently, the 6-foot-7 Tillery has been practicing with the first team and is making a good impression doing so.

Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley said on the first-round pick, via Reardon, “The way he works and the way he's been in meetings and walkthroughs [is impressive]. “He's a very detailed and a very prideful person. — He's there mentally, I think he just needs the physical part of it now — the lining up and block reaction, things like that.”

At Notre Dame, Tillery was a force to be reckoned with. In his final year of play, the interior pass-rusher tallied eight sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and 29 combined tackles. Over his four-year college career, Tillery accumulated 13.5 sacks, 24 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, and 134 combined tackles.
