Offensive coordinators will be having bigger headaches in the 2022 NFL season against the Los Angeles Chargers, as the Bolts now have the scary tandem of linebackers Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. Bosa recently finally spoke about this promising development for the Chargers, who really needed to shore up their stop unit following a leaky job in the 2021 NFL campaign.

Via Kevin Patra of NFL.com:

“It's amazing,” Bosa said, via the team's official transcript. “Just to have another guy like that to lean on, to look at — I was just talking to, I can remember who, today about it. Just getting to know him, he's a really nice guy. I was talking to [OLBs coach] Giff [Smith] about how he reminds me of [former Chargers DL Brandon] Mebane a little bit; his temperament, he's a chill dude. He's great to talk to. Along with that, he's obviously an unbelievable player, so having a guy like that on the other side is going to be really fun.”

Mack was sent to Hollywood by the Chicago Bears in March for a 2023 sixth-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick that later turned into safety Jaquan Brisker.

In 2021, the Chargers were a middle-of-the-road team in terms of sack production, churning out just 35 quarterback takedowns — way off the NFL leaders Pittsburgh Steelers, who had 55. With a mediocre pass rush, the Chargers allowed opponents to average 27.0 points per game (29th) and 360.1 total yards per contest (23rd).
