Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa has been placed in the concussion protocol, per Pro Football Talk.

Bosa left the Chargers' Week 8 game against the Denver Broncos to be evaluated for a concussion. Los Angeles lost to Denver to drop to 2-5 on the season. The team is in last place in the AFC West standings and will likely miss the playoffs.

Joey Bosa has recorded 4.5 sacks and 14 solo tackles for the Chargers this season. If the two-time Pro Bowler can't play in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders, Isaac Rochell and Uchenna Nwosu would be in line for more playing time, per Pro Football Talk.

Since getting drafted by the Chargers with the third overall pick in the 2016 draft out of Ohio State, Bosa has registered 44.5 sacks and 162 solo tackles in 58 games. He's undoubtedly one of the best defensive ends in the NFL, so hopefully, he's able to recover quickly and get back on the field for Los Angeles.

Bosa's brother, San Francisco edge rusher Nick Bosa, suffered a torn ACL in his left knee earlier in the season and the team placed him on the injured reserve list. It's been a tough year for the Bosa family and the California-based teams the Bosas play on, the 49ers and Chargers.

After the Raiders game in Week 9, the Chargers will take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. Los Angeles will certainly keep its fans updated on the status of Bosa.
