Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen recently received two negative COVID-19 test results which makes him eligible to play in their Week 9 encounter against the Las Vegas Raiders despite having sore throat which is recognized as a symptom of the virus, according to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter.

The three-time Pro Bowler has been on a tear as of late. He is second in the entire AFC with 53 receptions, fourth in yards (548) and has had eight or more receptions in three of the past four games, as per USA Today.

Allen also generated 67 receiving yards on nine receptions and a scored touchdown in their most recent game against the Denver Broncos. He found help in producing points for the team with fellow pass-catcher Mike Williams contributing 99 yards on five receptions and a touchdown score.

Despite the receiving duo's productivity, the encounter didn't go well for the Chargers as opposing quarterback Drew Lock located rookie wideout K.J. Hamler lurking on the endzone in the dying seconds of the game to inch closer to the Bolts' lead. An extra point converted by placekicker Brandon McManus with no time left on the clock eventually iced the game for the Broncos where they escaped on a 41-40 win.

With a 2-5 record to settle in the cellar-dwelling position in the AFC West, the Chargers' backs are now against the wall to ultimately salvage their 2020 campaign. Keenan Allen will hope to contribute once again especially against a Raiders squad who is riding a momentum after a win in Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns.
