It’s been quite a year for Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen. After playing in just nine games combined in the previous two seasons, Allen is back on the field leading the Chargers’ receiving corps and at the same time, making history.

When Allen caught 10 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in last Sunday’s 19-10 win over the Cleveland Browns, he became the first player in NFL history to record at least 10 receptions, at least 100 receiving yards and at least a touchdown in three-straight games.

Allen’s exploits have so far been done during meaningful games, as the 6-6 Chargers’ current three-game win streak has allowed the team to get a tie for the AFC West’s first place with the free-falling Kansas City Chiefs and the up-and-down Oakland Raiders.

Prior to the Browns game, Allen had 11 receptions for 172 receiving yards and a touchdown to help Los Angeles take down the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 23, 28-6. A game before that, Allen had 12 catches, 152 receiving yards, and a couple of touchdowns in a Nov. 19 54-24 drubbing of the Buffalo Bills.

Allen, who suffered kidney issues in 2015 and a torn ACL in 2016, leads the Chargers this season in receptions (77), receiving yards (1,032), and receiving touchdowns (5).

The 25-year-old wideout and former California Golden Bear will look to extend his historic streak next Sunday at home against the visiting Washington Redskins.
