Oft-injured Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen is in danger of missing yet another game. According to Eric D. Williams of ESPN, Allen did not participate in practice on Friday after hurting himself in a practice session the day before.

Allen has played in every game this season so far for the Chargers, but missed 15 contests last year with a kidney issue. He’s looked completely beyond that injury this season, however, as evidenced by team-leading numbers of 446 receiving yards and 33 receptions. He only has one touchdown to show after six weeks, though.

The Chargers are fourth in the league right now in passing yards per game, and Allen is a big part of the team’s great ability to move the chains via air. Losing Allen in Sunday’s game would mean that the Chargers will be without their best receiver against one of the league’s top stop units in the Denver Broncos.

If Allen would ultimately be ruled out, expect increased snaps for Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin, Rookie receiver Mike Williams, who made his debut in last week’s 17-16 win over the Oakland Raiders, could also be showcased more by the Chargers after appearing in just seven snaps in Week 6.

It would be interesting if Los Angeles were without one of its best receivers. Denver is dealing with a lot of that on its own end. So much so, in fact, Bennie Fowler III, who is usually a reserve, will be lining up as Vance Joseph's No. 2 receiver this weekend.
