The injuries continue to pile up for the Los Angeles Chargers but they received some good news regarding Mike Williams. Williams is expected to play in Week 2 versus the Detroit Lions per Adam Schefter.

Earlier in the week, there was some doubt that the third-year receiver would suit up on Sunday. Williams will play in Week 2 but he will likely be limited in this game to red-zone situations.

In Week 1, Williams sustained a knee injury against the Indianapolis Colts that caused him to leave the game prematurely. Following the game, the Clemson product said his knee locked up in the fourth quarter but he would be fine.

To begin the week, Williams was missing practices due to the injury. However, the young wideout was able to show some positive improvements later in the week to make him available for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Prior to the injury, Williams was able to corral just two receptions for 29 yards. This season, the Chargers are expected to incorporate him more in the offense with Tyrell Williams departing for the Oakland Raiders.

Along with Williams, the Chargers are already without Hunter Henry for an extended period of time with a knee injury. Additionally, Melvin Gordon remains away from the team as he continues his hold out that began in training camp.

With Williams being limited in Week 2, expect to see more of Dontrelle Inman and Travis Benjamin in the aerial attack. Keenan Allen will still likely see the majority of targets from Philip Rivers.
