Los Angeles Chargers young wide receiver Mike Williams open confesses to loving "all the haters" as it fuels him moving forward with his NFL career.
The Los Angeles Chargers are hoping to bounce back from a rough debut season in their new home. In order to do so, they will need the likes of wide receiver Mike Williams to provide some return on the investment the team committed to a year ago.
It was a disappointing rookie campaign for Williams. However, according to ESPN's Eric D. Williams, he is not worried about some of the criticism he has received thus far:
The Chargers selected Williams with the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, his career has gotten off to a rough start, to say the least.
Williams missed the majority of training camp last year due to a herniated disk. Although he managed to return, the former Clemson product was never able to etch out a role for himself in the offense. As a result, he registered just 11 catches for 95 yards in 10 games.
That said, it is easy to see why there is some frustration surrounding the pick. However, Wiliams now has a new opportunity to prove that the Chargers made the right choice. He could be poised for a breakout season playing alongside quarterback Phillip Rivers and wide receiver Keenan Allen.
