The Los Angeles Chargers are looking to stay in the win column at home against the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Fortunately, it appears wide receiver Mike Williams will be back in the mix for the offense.

Williams returned to practice this week after being sidelined with a back injury in Week 4. According to ESPN's Eric Williams, he announced he would be playing against the Broncos:

Mike Williams told me he’s playing Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Williams said he didn’t make the flight to Miami last week because he wanted the back spasms to calm down, but that he had a good week of practice. “I’m playing,” he said “I’m solid.”

This is certainly an encouraging update for the chargers. Although dealing with a back injury so early in the 2019 NFL season is hardly ideal, it does not appear to be too serious. The week off was just what he needed to get back in track for this AFC West matchup.

Quarterback Philip rivers will certainly be happy to have one of his biggest weapons back on offense. The Chargers' receiving corps has dealt with an injury bug as of late with Tyrell Benjamin dealing with a hip injury and Dontrelle Inman now in injured reserve with a quad injury.

Fortunately, Williams is slated to serve as the complementary option to No. 1 wide receiver Keenan Allen in the passing game. He has registered eight catches for 157yards so far this season and will be looking to get in the end zone for the first time against Denver.
