Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver is a free agent this NFL offseason, and he thinks that he can be a number one receiver on a team.

“I definitely feel like I'm a No. 1 receiver,” Williams said while cleaning out his locker at the end of the season two weeks ago via ESPN. “So I want to make sure that I clean up all of the little things in route running and blocking, to make sure I solidify myself as a No. 1.”

Williams isn't a household name yet, but after being an undrafted rookie out of Divison II Western Oregon in 2015, he was made quite the name for himself. Although he has been behind Keenan Allen most of the time when Allen has been out with an injury he has stepped up in a big way.

Chargers general manager Tom Telesco was asked if Williams would get a second contract with the team and he said that is something the team is having discussions about.

“This past year, his game had already been solid, and he kind of took it to the next level this year,” Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said. “He's certainly earned his second contract. Those are discussions we have to have, but I just don't have hard answers at this point in the offseason.”

There is no doubt that Williams will earn a second contract with another team, but he might be in a for a rude awakening on just how much the contract will earn him. It might be a smart move to sign a shorter contract and bet on himself hoping to earn more money in his next free agency.
