Quarterback Tyrod Taylor didn't start during the 2019 season. However, that doesn't mean the Los Angeles Chargers veteran is lacking in confidence.

After sitting as a backup quarterback for the past two seasons, Taylor finds himself as the starting QB for the Chargers entering 2020. While the team could still certainly make another addition, Taylor will at least have a chance at winning the job. That's more of an opportunity than he had last season.

As he enters the 2020 season as the presumed starter, Taylor wants to make one thing clear — the Chargers are going to “turn heads.”

That's right — the 5-11 Chargers are going to be a different team this season, according to Taylor.

“We have a lot of talent on our team,” Taylor told Gilbert Manzano of the Orange County Register. “If I am the guy that would be calling the shots, I know for sure that we'll go out and turn a lot of heads.”

For those that have forgotten, Taylor isn't some unproven quarterback. The 30-year-old veteran led the Buffalo Bills to a playoff appearance in 2017. That isn't some slight feat; it's a major accomplishment. The Bills hadn't clinched a postseason berth in 18 years prior to Taylor leading them to an appearance.

Despite his success, the Bills quickly traded Taylor to the Cleveland Browns in a shocking move. He eventually landed in Los Angeles as Philip Rivers' backup in 2019.

While the Chargers certainly disappointed last season, they're not lacking in talent. They have top-tier players in Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler. Furthermore, they also went 12-4 and advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs in 2018. In other words, the talent is certainly still there.

Considering Taylor will likely be a full-time starter for the first time in three seasons, it's now or never for the unappreciated QB to “turn heads.”
