Melvin Gordon has already shared how he plans on holding out of training camp and possibly further if he doesn't receive a new contract. The Los Angeles Chargers running back believes things will be different within his team from the Le'Veon Bell situation.

According to the running back, Gordon says his teammates back his contract stance. If his holdout carries over into the regular season, it could become more of a distraction as the weeks go by.

“They’re all behind me. They all got my back,” Gordon said, via ESPN.com. “They all told me you know what — we don’t really speak on contracts — but you just go and do what’s best for your family. And I’m glad I got that support from them.”

At the least, it doesn't seem like his holdout will cause any tension between him and his teammates. Of course, Bell went through a similar situation last year and his teammates didn't handle it well.

The offensive linemen on the Pittsburgh Steelers called out and criticized Bell for staying away from the team. Bell's situation was a bit different as he wasn't under contract due to not signing the franchise tag in 2018.

As a result, Bell sat out the entire 2018 season and became an unrestricted free agent this offseason. For the Steelers, Bell's absence was a constant distraction and the team missed the playoffs.

Gordon is hoping his situation doesn't end the same as Bell's and hopes he remains with the Chargers. Besides, it seems like Gordon's teammates are more supportive of Gordon than Bell's teammates were.
