The Round Mound Of Rebound is not one for social media.

Charles Barkley appeared on ESPN’s Dan Le Batard Show this week and, as always, he made for a highly entertaining interviewee.

During the show, Chuck claimed that he received lucrative offers to jump aboard certain social media platforms, Twitter in particular:

“I've been offered as much as $3 million to do tweets,” he said. “I said, ‘Y'all can't pay me enough money to tweet.' I've been offered millions of dollars to do talk radio, I said, ‘Y'all can never pay me enough to talk to these fools.'”

Every week, there seems to be a viral quote from Barkley, as the opinionated TNT analyst expresses his opinion openly. The 1993 MVP already made it known how he feels about social media in an interview with ESPN’s Mike & Mike earlier this year.

High profile sportspeople are not strangers to these kinds of offers. Social media is a powerful promotional tool and many companies use their affiliation with high profile personalities to help sell their products. Companies that celebrities already work with may also encourage their talent to post on social media platforms, such as Twitter, in order to engage with their audience.

It’s not likely that we’ll be re-tweeting Sir Charles anytime soon, no matter how much money is thrown at him.
