A number of players, past and present, have chimed in with their opinions on Kevin Durant‘s decision to play for the Golden State Warriors.

Many have identified it as an understandable basketball decision that KD has the right to make, while others are disappointed given the growing lack of parity it presents, as well as the fact that Durant's leaving a true title contender for a team that just broke the NBA record with 73 wins.

Now, Inside the NBA's Charles Barkley, one of the game's all-time great players to never win a championship, has chimed in.

On this morning's episode of Mike & Mike on ESPN, Barkley was asked to share his thoughts on the move, and he didn't hold back:

Stephen A. Smith seemed visibly upset as he ranted about Durant's “weak” decision to join the Dubs on Monday, and Paul Pierce said, “If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.”

You'd think Barkley would at least understand the move from Durant's point of view, given his past. Chuck failed to win a title during his 16-year, Hall of Fame career, just as Durant as through his first nine years in the league. Similar fates were met by John Stockton, Karl Malone, and Patrick Ewing.

In Barkley's opinion, the Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs actually would've been title favorites ahead of the Warriors had Durant stayed in OKC.

“(OKC) probably would have been the favorite going into the Western Conference final next year.

“I think people figured out Golden State's small ball.”
