The entire league may be bracing for the upcoming 2021 All-Star Game festivities but NBA legend Charles Barkley seems to have other plans in mind. He is aiming to get back in shape once again to prepare for a momentous occasion as his daughter, Cristiana Barkley, is set to tie the knot with a Jewish entrepreneur in Ilya Hoffman this weekend.

“I’ve been really working out hard because apparently they’ve got to pick me up in a chair,” Barkley told Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show Tuesday night about the most harrowing feature of the traditional celebratory Jewish dance.”

“Listen, I need all Jewish people on deck, brother. Cause I can only get so skinny by Saturday, man,” Barkley said. “It’s like I’m a soldier, all hands on deck.”

The marriage will reportedly take place in Phoenix, where rules on large gatherings are more relaxed. It is also the same city where Barkley made a name for himself in the league. He used to suit up for the Suns from 1992 to 1996 and successfully won the NBA MVP award back in 1993.

Last year, it can be recalled how Charles Barkley expressed his condemnation for the Anti-Semitism remarks made by several African-American personalities. One of which was NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson who previously posted Anti-Semitic quotes towards German dictator Adolf Hitler and religious leader Louis Farrakhan but has already apologized to Barkley since then.

Furthermore, the NBA legend claimed that he will definitely welcome Hoffman and his family with open arms.

“I love his family, they are amazing people, they’ve been living in Long Island for a long time,” he said. “It’s going to be a welcome addition to my family.”
