New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley doesn't have the best relationship with the Knicks' current front office. Oakley famously got kicked out of the Madison Square Garden for reportedly heckling Knicks owner James Dolan this past season. Despite all of that, Oakley decided to side with the Knicks regarding Latvian forward Kristaps Porzingis skipping his exit interviews.

Porzingis, unhappy with how the organization has treated forward Carmelo Anthony, decided to completely skip the team's exit interviews. After that, the franchise had little-to-no contact with their forward and future All-Star, which caused team president Phil Jackson to put him on the trade block.

Oakley, in an interview with New York Daily News' Stefan Bondy, said that Porzingis was wrong to skip his exit meeting:

“He's wrong for that. You can't do that,” said Oakley. “Not being two years in the league … and you won 32 games and 31 games. I mean, you don't do that. Especially when you're in town (at the same time the meeting was supposed to take place). You don't do that. That's wrong. (Porzingis) should tell (Jackson) himself. That's why you got a mouth. Learn the triangle and if doesn't work, the coach gets fired or the president and the GM gets fired. Just try. You gotta try.”

Oakley does have a point. Porzingis, it seems, chose the worst possible way to express his discomfort with the franchise. With all these issues, the Knicks will be viewed as even more dysfunctional, reducing Porzinigis' chances to get better teammates via free agency and reach the playoffs.

It remains to be seen what happens to the Knicks and Porzingis this summer; stay tuned.
