Former New York bruiser Charles Oakley reached a finality on his ordeal which originates from his violent debacle inside Madison Square Garden during a Knicks game against the L.A. Clippers last season.

According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, Oakley has reached a plea agreement that rids him of all misdemeanor assault counts along with a criminal trespass, but he’ll have to stay away from trouble over a six-month period.

Outside of his 10-year tenure with the Knicks, Oakley was also popular for his stints in Chicago and Toronto. He also made two quick stopovers in Washington and Houston to wind up a career that has seen him establish a reputation as one of the nastier enforcers in league history.

Charles Oakley keeps himself busy these days as part of Ice Cube’s BIG3 league, where he coaches the Killer 3s. But he’ll have to do a better job at controlling his emotions from here on if he wants to maintain his distance from legal issues.
