During his four-year stay at Millerville, Chas McCormick has set career records in hits, runs, RBIs, and triples en route to becoming the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s (PSAC) all-time hits leader. He also led the Millersville Marauders to back-to-back-to-back PSAC East Champs, from 2013 to 2015. To top it all off, he was named to the All-PSAC East team four times and was the PSAC East Athlete of the Year in his senior year. After graduating from the Millerville University of Pennsylvania, Chas McCormick was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 21st round of the 2017 draft. He then signed a contract with the squad along with a $1,000 signing bonus.

“For any baseball player, it is your dream,” said McCormick. “I never thought I would get drafted. When the Astros didn't call my name last year it really motivated me to work hard and not give up.”

“I honestly didn't think it was looking good,” said McCormick. “My mind has been running, I've been pacing around. We sat at the computer until I saw my name pop up on the computer. Ryan jumped and said ‘no way, no way.' I was wondering if it was true. We jumped around and I ran home to tell my parents. My mom and dad were both crying, which made me cry.”

Despite being drafted in 2017, Chas McCormick spent the early parts of his career in the minor leagues. In 283 minor league games, he had splits of .278 / .362 / .402 with 20 home runs and 41 stolen bases. He was also named the MiLB.com Houston Organization All-Star in 2019.

In 2020, he was included in Houston’s wild card playoff roster. However, he did not make an appearance and was left off of their playoff roster during the Astros’ wild card sweep of the Minnesota Twins.

On April 1, 2021, Chas McCormick made his MLB debut during their game against the Oakland Athletics. He finished the 2021 season with 108 games played, 14 home runs, 4 stolen bases, and splits of .257 / .319 / .447.
