Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger will see his current contract at Stamford Bridge expire at the end of this season and negotiations for a new deal haven't exactly gone to plan. That being said, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and PSG are all interested in the German's services.

However, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Rudiger is very keen on putting pen to paper on an extension, and negotiations between Chelsea and the players have drastically improved:

The Blues would be absolutely gutted to lose Rudiger, who is a crucial piece of their squad and arguably their best defender. The Germany international has made 176 appearances for Chelsea since making the switch from Roma to London in 2017. Aside from his physicality and tremendous abilities defensively, the 28-year-old has also contributed goals this term, particularly in the air, netting three times and tallying four assists across all competitions.

After handing Thiago Silva a new deal recently, Chelsea will undoubtedly be determined to make sure Rudiger is patrolling the backline alongside the Brazilian next term as well. He is looking for a massive payday, but given Rudiger's importance to the success of the Champions League title-holders, it's would be a no-brainer for the Chelsea board to hand him a very healthy pay raise.
