Well, it's officially a done deal. Romelu Lukaku has reunited with Chelsea after leaving Inter Milan, joining the Premier League giants for the second time in his career. The Blues paid €115 million for the Belgian striker, who signed a five-year contract on Thursday.

Of course, Chelsea had to announce their marquee summer signing in historic fashion with a brilliant throwback video. Take a look:

Lukaku has been one of the most prolific finishers in world football in recent memory, bagging 80 goals for club and country across the last two seasons. Of course, he was previously a Chelsea player from 2011-14, but went out on loan to West Brom and Everton before joining the Toffees on a full-time basis.

Bringing in a clinical figure was Thomas Tuchel's primary goal in this transfer window. Despite having a plethora of options in the final third, the Blues lacked a consistent finisher. They will be hoping Lukaku can be that man. The 28-year-old had this to say about his move back to Stamford Bridge, via Chelsea FC's website:

“I’m happy and blessed to be back at this wonderful club,’ said Romelu Lukaku. ‘It’s been a long journey for me: I came here as a kid who had a lot to learn, now I’m coming back with a lot of experience and more mature.”

“The relationship I have with this club means so much to me, as you know. I have supported Chelsea as a kid and now to be back and try to help them win more titles is an amazing feeling.”

While the Blues are reigning European champions, the likes of PSG, Man City, and Bayern Munich have also strengthened their squads. The addition of Lukaku should help Chelsea be more of a threat up top, thanks to his strength on the ball and hold-up play. They didn't have an imposing striker who can use his sheer presence to beat defenders. With Romelu Lukaku enjoying the form of his life, this could turn out to be a game-changing signing for the Blues as the club eyes European and Premier League glory in 2021/22.
