After a long saga, Chelsea has officially found a buyer for the club as Todd Boehly and his consortium are expected to be announced as the new owners on Monday, which means it's truly the end of an era for Roman Abramovich. The Russian, who decided to sell the Blues following his country's attacks on Ukraine, penned a heartfelt message to Chelsea on Saturday.

Via the Blues' website:

“It has been nearly three months since I announced my intention to sell Chelsea FC. During this time, the team have worked hard to find the right custodian for Chelsea FC that would be best positioned to successfully lead the club into its next chapter.

“The ownership of this club comes with great responsibility. Since I came to Chelsea nearly 20 years ago, I have witnessed first-hand what this club can achieve. My goal has been to ensure that the next owner has a mindset that will enable success for the men’s and women’s team, as well as the will and drive to continue developing other key aspects of the club, such as the academy and the vital work of Chelsea Foundation.

“I am pleased this search has now come to a successful conclusion. As I hand over Chelsea to its new custodians, I would like to wish them the best of success, both on and off the pitch.”

Truly the end of an era at Stamford Bridge. Abramovich spent almost 20 years with Chelsea, winning a total of 19 trophies. That includes five Premier League titles and two pieces of Champions League silverware, most recently in 2021 when the Blues beat Manchester City in the grand finale in Lisbon.

Chelsea certainly has some work to do this summer in the transfer window, especially when it comes to replacing Antonio Rudiger. Due to the UK's sanctions on the club, the German was forced to leave.  He's now heading to Real Madrid. Aside from bringing in another center-back, the Blues should also be in the market for a striker. Todd Boehly has his work cut out for him after the club finished in third place in the top flight this term.
