The second Romelu Lukaku era with Chelsea is now underway.

After joining Chelsea on a blockbuster permanent transfer move from Inter Milan earlier this month, Lukaku made his Premier League season debut with the Blues in the team's away fixture against Arsenal. He was slotted upfront as the Blues' main center forward, while German talents Kai Havertz and Mason Mount were tucked in behind him as the team's attacking midfielders.

It did not take long for Lukaku to exert an impact in the game, as he scored a key tap-in goal over the opening stages of the first half.

Chelsea notched its second straight win to kick off the season as it defeated Arsenal by a 2-0 final score.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel comes away from the match pleased with not only his team's overall showing but also with Lukaku's keen influence in the match. Tuchel spoke after the match, where he provided his initial takeaways on Lukaku's second debut with the Blues.

“I’m very happy with the way he has integrated already,” Tuchel said. “He’s a very smart guy, he likes to be in the group and he’s a very democratic leader so he talks to everybody.

“He cannot start better than with a goal. He almost scored a second one but for a big save from Bernd Leno and he assisted some half-chances and chances as well, so it’s a good start. Now we have to improve from here.

“I didn’t expect too much. I wanted to be open to watch him, to see his strengths and his capability to adapt and link up with Kai and Mason. ‘This is what he did very well. The guys like to play with him and from here we can go into the details.”

The former Inter Milan star also was pleased with his showing, although he noted following the game that there is still plenty to build on after the win.

“Today was good, to win and to start well, and now we have to keep working, keep building, keep getting stronger,” Lukaku said. “The Premier League is a very competitive league, but we're ready for the challenge and hopefully we can improve on this.”

Lukaku finished with one formidable showing against Arsenal, where he showed off his versatility as a center forward.

The new Chelsea striker will now have another massive test upcoming, as the Blues will clash with Liverpool on matchday three.
