The Chicago Bulls made some of the biggest moves of the offseason to help out Zach LaVine, acquiring Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan in separate sign-and-trade deals and also poaching Alex Caruso away from the Los Angeles Lakers. The Bulls are trying to finally become relevant again after stinking it up since the Jimmy Butler trade, and these moves have at least made them interesting on paper.

You never want to overreact to preseason, and especially not just one game against questionable competition, but the Bulls look primed to be back to relevance. Chicago's preseason opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers was everything the team could have hoped for and more, with the final result a 131-95 victory that has Bulls fans buzzing.

The Bulls put on a show for their fans, executing a number of highlight-reel plays and running the hapless Cavaliers off the court. LaVine was the star of the show with 25 points and several big dunks, but he got help from up and down the roster. That's something he hasn't been consistently used to in his career.

Speaking of putting on a show, that's exactly what Ball said the Bulls plan to do every single night. They're obviously not going to be scoring 130-plus points and building 40-point leads every game, but they're going to be an entertaining team.

Needless to say, the vibes are good in Chicago. On the latest episode of Blue Wire's Cash Considerations, Ricky O'Donnell expressed his excitement over this Bulls team:

“It was just one preseason game against perhaps one of the worst teams in the league, the Cleveland Cavaliers, but oh my god did the Bulls look incredible. … The final score doesn't matter, but the vibes do, and the vibes could not have been better. From the opening tip, the Bulls were displaying pristine ball movement, you could see the athleticism and the length on the floor, and you could just truly tell this is a new era of Bulls basketball. The GarPax stink is fully off this roster. Arturas Karnisovas' vision in the offseason materialized on the first preseason game of the year.”

The Bulls still have to prove they can win games when it matters, but they showed what they could be if everything comes together. This should be a fun season.
