Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL. At 24 years old, Mahomes already has a Super Bowl ring, Super Bowl MVP, regular season MVP and a 50-touchdown season. The Kansas City Chiefs are set up well with a great quarterback who has plenty of weapons to throw to.

Mahomes puts on a show every time he is on the field. From no-look passes to using his legs, the Texas Tech product can do it all. In the 2020-2021 season, Mahomes has a chance to start repeating some great feats. Here are three bold predictions for Mahomes next season.

3. Mahomes inks legendary contract

Mahomes signing a contract extension is not bold. He is eligible for an extension for the first time in his career and the Chiefs need to keep him in Kansas City until he retires. The astronomical amount of money that he is going to sign for borders on bold because it will be like nothing we have ever seen in football.

There are plenty of quarterbacks in the NFL making a ton of money who have accomplished way less than Mahomes. He has a chance to be the first quarterback to take a regular season snap making $40-$50 million per year. The Chiefs will wait until after the draft to discuss contracts with their star quarterback and it could be in the range of five years and $250 million.

2. Back-to-back

The Chiefs have a chance to do something that is very rare in sports — winning back-to-back championships. Kansas City will enter the season as the best team in the AFC and probably the league. Tom Brady is now in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens have a quarterback who has not proven that he can win a big game. What is standing in their way?

If the Chiefs want to repeat as Super Bowl champions, Mahomes will have to continue his unworldly level of play. This means that he would also have his second Super Bowl MVP trophy in as many years.

1. Mahomes puts up 50 touchdowns again

In 2018, Mahomes became the third quarterback in NFL history to throw for 50 touchdowns. Tom Brady did it in 2007 and Peyton Manning set the single-season record with 55 in 2013. If Mahomes were to do it again, he would be the first quarterback ever to throw 50 touchdowns in a season twice.

Mahomes threw 26 touchdowns in 2019. He missed two games with a knee injury and threw the ball 96 fewer times than in 2018. Andy Reid could lean on his quarterback in 2020 to get in the end zone. Throwing 50 touchdowns once again would be the perfect way to celebrate a shiny new contract.
