Kansas City Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy is among the notable players hoping to add a Super Bowl ring to their illustrious career. However, it seems there is an even bigger motivating factor for him to win a championship that transcends his own personal desire.

Despite being one of the most revered coaches in the NFL, Andy Reid has always come up short on the big stage. McCoy says that he and many of Reid's former players are pulling for him to finish the job this time around, via Dave Zangaro of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com:

“We want to do this for Andy,” McCoy said.

“I’ll tell you what, that would mean the world to me and to a lot of guys on this team,” McCoy said. “But also to a lot of former players that played with coach Reid, they really want him to win. We know how hard he works at this.

McCoy enjoyed plenty of success as Reid's workhorse during their days with the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, their lack of success in the postseason ultimately led to Reid's departure and the six-time Pro Bowler would eventually follow.

McCoy's stint with the Buffalo Bills came to end prior to the 2019 NFL season and he was soon reunited with his former coach in Kansas City. Although the veteran has largely served as a complementary option in the backfield this year, he will now have the opportunity to help Reid secure a ring on behalf of all those that have attempted to do so in the past.
