The Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills played a game for the ages in the AFC divisional round on Sunday. Aside from the incredible quarterback show put on by Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, one of the biggest storylines after the game was the controversial overtime rule, which prevented the Bills from touching the ball.

Allen spoke about the matter, noting that it “is what it is” but that he'd likely be celebrating if it was the other way around too. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid seemed to offer a response to Allen's comments when speaking about the controversial OT rule, via NBC Sports.

“That, I’m sure, is something they’re going to look at again,” Reid said. “I wouldn’t be opposed to it. That’s a hard thing. It was great for us last night, but is it great for the game, which is the most important thing we should all be looking out for? To make things equal, it probably needs to be able to hit both offenses, both defenses.”

Reid, who along with the Chiefs, clamored for the NFL to change the OT rule after their close loss to the New England Patriots in the 2019 AFC title game, joked that he was glad they didn't change the rule, which helped them take down Allen and the Bills.

Reid got real though, questioning if the NFL's OT rule is the best thing for the game. He feels that both the offense and defense should touch the ball “to make things equal.” It certainly would have made an amazing Chiefs-Bills, Mahomes-Allen product even better.

It will be interesting to see if the NFL considers changing the rule.
