The Kansas City Chiefs will hope to safety Eric Berry for this upcoming Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots. Berry was able to play in Week 15 and 16 but was not able to play last Saturday after drawing a questionable tag prior to the matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Chiefs possess undoubtedly the weakest defense out of the four teams left in the playoffs, but Berry's presence on the field would be a huge boost for the Chiefs defensive unit. The heel injury cost Berry nearly the entire season aside from the two games he was able to play in at the end of the season.

Berry overcame a world of adversity of the years most notably his bout with Hodgkins Lymphoma back in 2014 that he thankfully beat. Unfortunately for Berry, he ruptured his Achilles last season during Week 1's shocking win over the New England Patriots.

Berry is a fantastic player that possesses incredible playmaking ability, but the injuries the last two seasons have undoubtedly hindered his potential success. If the Chiefs hope to stifle Tom Brady at all this weekend, they will need Berry out on the field. The only problem is Berry more likely won't be at 100 percent, but it's unlikely the Chiefs would deploy their star safety if he is unable to play.

The Chiefs face an incredibly tough task this weekend, but the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium provides a huge boost to its home team. Hopefully, for the Chiefs sake, it will give them the edge they need on Sunday.
