Sunday will showcase a highly-anticipated matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins. This contest will also feature a battle between two of the top coaches in the NFL today in Andy Reid and Brian Flores — two shot-callers that have a bit of history between them.

Last year, the Chiefs were able to secure home-field advantage in the playoffs thanks to Flores and the Dolphins. With the Fins defeated the New England Patriots in the final game of the season to everyone's surprise 27-24. To show his appreciation, Reid apparently sent some Kansas City-style barbecue over to Flores as a sign of his gratitude:

“So, I thought I’d just send him a little thought from Kansas City, you know,” Reid said in a conference call with Dolphins media this week, via Safid Deen of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “Kansas City is known for its barbecue, so no better present to get from the good Kansas City barbecue here.”

Flores himself talked about the Chiefs coach's awesome gesture, and admitted that it was some of the best barbecue he's ever had:

“It was good barbecue – it went fast,” Flores said with a smile Thursday. “Had my brothers over, not sure if we had some other people over. We enjoyed it. So, I was very thankful to Andy for that. And yeah, it went very quickly. K.C. barbecue is very good.”

Pleasantries will be exchanged between these two coaches when they take the field on Sunday, but their friendship will be set aside once the contest kicks off. The Chiefs are on a very impressive seven-game winning streak, and they have every intention of taking the Dolphins as their next victim.
