A new report has just emerged pertaining to the investigation involving Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid. The son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, Britt has reportedly been removed from his post as the team's outside linebackers coach.

This report comes via Adam Schefter of ESPN:

Britt was not with the Chiefs as they fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Sunday's Super Bowl bout. The 35-year-old was earlier placed on administrative leave for his involvement in a three-vehicle car crash, which has left a five-year-old girl in critical condition.

The Chiefs recently came out with an official statement announcing their decision to place Reid on administrative leave as the authorities continue to investigate the crash. For his part, Andy Reid also spoke briefly about his son's current predicament, while also stating that Britt was himself forced to undergo surgery because of the accident.

It is worth noting that according to a statement made by a Kansas City police officer who responded to the scene, Britt smelled of alcohol. Reid also admitted to having had “two or three drinks” prior to the accident.

The Chiefs have yet to make a statement on Britt's removal from his post, as they try to distance themselves away from this mess. It also remains to be seen how Andy Reid will react to the front office's decision to part ways with his son.
