The Kansas City Chiefs are known for their offense but defensive tackle Chris Jones doesn't think the offense is what needs to carry them to victories anymore. On Sunday against the New England Patriots, the Chiefs defense frustrated Tom Brady all afternoon and held their offense to only 16 points.

The way the defense played opened up a lot of eyes and Jones thinks that's the way it can be going forward.

“We don’t need the offense to win games for us,” Jones said, via Nate Taylor of TheAthletic.com. “Last year, we kind of lingered toward the offense scoring a lot of points to win games. We don’t need that. We as a defense can stand up to any team in this league. That’s how it’s supposed to be.”

Jones had a big game and even got into the face of Tom Brady to do a little chirping and pointing him back towards his bench. Frank Clark gave a warning to the rest of the league, Jones is not someone they want to go to war with.

“You don’t want to get into a battle with him, either,” Clark of Jones. “He’s the Sack Nation CEO. I don’t think you want to say nothing to Sack Nation CEO than the crazy man with gold hair. Chris is my brother in crime. When you’ve got the two of us out there, I don’t think you want to say nothing too off the line.”

It's good to see the Chiefs defense stepping up their game and playing with some fire. If the Chiefs defense can continue their strong play, this could be the favorite in the AFC to make it to the Super Bowl.
