The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to be as healthy as possible when they host the Tennessee Titans for the AFC Championship Game. Fortunately, it appears defensive tackle Chris Jones has managed to provide a rather positive update.

Jones was recently spotted getting some work in with the team during warm-ups, via NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport:

This is certainly an encouraging sign for Jones' status against the Titans. There was plenty of initial concern regarding his availability suffering a calf injury in practice. The injury sidelined him for the win over the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Round. Fortunately, it appears he has made some progress and may be looking to make his return.

Jones is coming off a spectacular 2019 NFL season that saw him register 36 tackles and nine sacks. It earned him a Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors for the first time in his career. As a result, his absence undoubtedly left a huge void in the Chiefs' front during their win over the Texans.

Although Kansas City was able to get the job done without him in the first round, it will be difficult to do this time around. That would be because the Chiefs have to slow down running back Derrick Henry. This defense will need all the help they can get if they hope to try and contain Henry, who is in the midst of a historic outing in the playoffs.

Jones' status for this game could ultimately prove to be a deciding factor for whichever team advances to the Super Bowl.
