It was reported by James Palmer of NFL Network that the Kansas City Chiefs weren't optimistic that Chris Jones would play on Sunday versus the Tennessee Titans but apparently his status has changed. According to Matt Verderame of FanSided, Kansas City now believes that Jones will play against the Titans.

Shortly after, Palmer added another report that suggested the same, with Jones active for the game.

Ahead of last week's matchup with the Houston Texans, Jones sustained a calf injury in practice. Despite trying to fight through the injury in pregame warmups, Jones was unable to suit up against the Texans.

Nevertheless, the Chiefs were able to advance to the AFC Championship Game without Jones. In the week leading up to Sunday's pivotal contest, Jones wasn't able to participate in any practices.

Even though he wasn't able to practice, Jones is looking to return to the field against the Titans. There's no doubt that the Chiefs' defense would welcome back Jones with open arms.

Prior to the calf injury, Jones contributed 36 tackles, nine sacks, eight tackles for loss, and 20 quarterback hits in the regular season. Those numbers were good enough for Jones to be named a Pro Bowler for the first time in his career.

In Jones' absence last Sunday, both Khalen Saunders and Xavier Williams saw an uptick in snaps. It remains to be seen if the Pro Bowl defensive tackle receives his usual share of snaps in his return from injury. Provided that, Saunders and Williams could share the workload with Jones.

Regardless of how much Jones plays, he will be vital to trying to contain Derrick Henry. The Titans running back has combined for 377 rushing yards in the first two weeks of the postseason.
