The Kansas City Chiefs selected Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the No. 32 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and he's excited to get to work. Just days after joining the Chiefs, Edwards-Helaire spoke about teaming up with Patrick Mahomes.

Edwards-Helaire, who won the National Championship with LSU in 2019, is headed to the reigning Super Bowl champions. Not many people in the world can say they've done that, but Edwards-Helaire has always been able to overcome the odds.

In his final season at LSU, Edwards-Helaire scampered for 1,414 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. He also proved to be a capable receiver, catching 55 passes for 453 yards and another touchdown. There's no doubt that his ability to catch the ball will bring a smile to Mahomes' face.

While speaking about the Super Bowl MVP, Edwards-Helaire noted that Mahomes reached out to him when he was drafted. He also referred to the Chiefs quarterback as a ‘soon-to-be' Hall of Famer. Clearly, the first-rounder is a fan of Mahomes and what he's been able to do in just three seasons in the NFL.

Edwards-Helaire is a perfect fit in the Chiefs aerial offense, being compared to the likes of Brian Westbrook. Of course, Westbrook was an All-Pro running back that played for the Philadelphia Eagles when Andy Reid was the head coach.

Now, Reid will get a chance to coach a similar player in Edwards-Helaire in Kansas City. At the same time, the rookie running back is more than ready to join forces with Mahomes, creating a scary duo in the backfield.
