Donovan McNabb knew this day was big. For the second time in his storied career as an NFL head coach, Andy Reid is going to the Super Bowl. On Sunday, by defeating the Tennessee Titans 35-24, Reid's Kansas City Chiefs were eligible to purchase tickets to Miami. They will face the winner of the NFC — either the Green Bay Packers or San Francisco 49ers — in Super Bowl LIV on Feb. 2 in Miami.

Reid's former quarterback Donavan McNabb took to Twitter to congratulate him after the Chiefs won.

So happy for the guy,” McNabb said.” Best I ever had as a coach. That’s my coach congratulations Andy Reid..”

Reid and McNabb previously reached the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles. The two faced the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX, a game they ultimately lost. McNabb threw three interceptions and Tom Brady left with a ring to add to his collection.

Reid and McNabb enjoyed success in Philadelphia, but they did not do so as quickly as Reid and Patrick Mahomes have in Kansas City. In two years as Mahomes as the full-time starter, the Chiefs have been to the AFC Championship twice, losing the first time and winning in the second. Individually, Mahomes has won the MVP once and been to the Pro Bowl twice with Reid coaching.

Considered to be one of the greatest offensive minds in the history of football, Reid is a Hall of Fame-bound head coach. His work with quarterbacks is elite. However, despite coaching up great passers, he doesn't have a Super Bowl win to his name as head coach. That can change in 2020.
