It appears that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy won't be taking the Colorado head coaching job, after Mel Tucker left to take the Michigan State job.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, reported that there hasn't been a whole lot of traction between Bieniemy and the Buffaloes. Fowler said that Colorado has made “overtures” to the former Buffaloes running back, but he hasn't bit.

Bieniemy has interviewed for multiple head coaching jobs but he hasn't been offered a job yet. There were many who believed he might have interest in the Colorado coaching job, but it's clear he is waiting for a head coaching job in the NFL.

Bieniemy has said before it's his dream to be a head coach, but he isn't rushing it.

“Everyone wants to hear I'm disappointed,” Eric Bieniemy told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio before the Super Bowl. “That is not the case. We're still playing. We've got one of the biggest games this weekend. So I'm really looking forward to having that opportunity to share in this moment in time with our organization, our players and also, too, our coaching staff.

“I mean, that's everybody's dream to be one of the 32 head coaches. That's everybody's dream. Someday, possibly, it may happen. But right now, the only thing that matters is making sure our guys, our players and our coaching staff is focused on the goal — and that's making sure we play to the end of that final echo of the whistle come Sunday.”

There should be open coaching jobs again next offseason and it would be shocking if Eric Bieniemy wasn't offered a job. Who knows, maybe Andy Reid might decide to retire and he could be the next coach of the Chiefs.
