One of the first moves made in Jon Gruden's second stint as head coach of the Oakland Raiders was to part ways with cornerback David Amerson. It didn't take long for Amerson to find a new team and ironically enough, it was in the same division.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Amerson has agreed to a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Amerson had a forgettable season in what turned out to be his last year with the Raiders. The 26-year-old starter played in only six games for the silver and black missing the final eight due to a foot injury. He defended six passes, recorded 14 tackles and one fumble recovery during the 2017 campaign.

The Chiefs hope to bolster an already talented secondary with the addition of Amerson. The team recently parted ways with veteran Darrelle Revis and await the return of star safety Eric Berry who tore his Achilles in the first game of the season against the New England Patriots.

It'll be interesting to see how the impact of the changes made by the Chiefs turn out during the 2018 NFL season as they hope to be a force on both sides of the football. Along with hoping Berry returns to form as one of the best safeties in the league, Kansas City recently traded quarterback Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins in order to pave the way for Patrick Mahomes II.

The Chiefs will look a little different on both sides of the field as they make this transition in hopes of becoming a title contender in the near future.
