More and more athletes are stepping up to help their communities and the nation when tragedy strikes. With that said, Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark is stepping up and paying for the funeral of LeGend Taliferro.

LeGend is the 4-year-old kid who was shot and killed early Monday morning while he was sleeping in an apparent drive-by on the apartment building the family was living in. Clark took to Twitter to voice his support for the family and condemn gun violence.

RIP young LeGend Taliferro. Crazy In the midst of a movement we still manage to do foolish things. He was killed as he slept in his home due to gun violence. His mother, Charron Powell needs us. Let his name be heard,” the Chiefs star said.

Moreover, according to McKenzie Nelso of 41 Action News, Clark has offered to pay the entire funeral cost for the family. The Chiefs DE will also play the first game of the 2020 season against the Houston Texans in LeGend's honor.

The police have yet to make an arrest in the case. They are still trying to track down the vehicle that was spotted leaving the area.

Frank Clark is heading into his sixth year in the NFL and his second with the Chiefs. In his first season with Kansas City, he helped lead the team to the Super Bowl, recording 27 tackles, eight sacks and three forced fumbles.
