The 2017 NFL regular season will get underway on Thurs. Sept. 7 with the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots hosting the Kansas City Chiefs at Gilette Stadium.

With the Patriots considered to be the favorite to win it all once again this season, the Chiefs are in for a challenge to start their 2017 campaign. Although it will be a tall task for Kansas City to contain future Hall of Famer Tom Brady, linebacker Justin Houston has a simple recipe for success against the perennial Pro Bowler, via Marc Sessler of NFL.com.

“To hit him,” Houston said, in comments distributed by the team. “Because the ball comes out so fast, he's a smart guy. My main thing is the defense, don't lose confidence in what you got going on because he's going to make plays — it's Tom Brady. Just got to stay together through four quarters.”

Houston and the Chiefs defense will have their work cut out for them on Thursday as they try to get the best of the reigning Super Bowl champions on their home field.

Despite the fact that Patriots are arguably the league's elite team heading into the 2017 season, Kansas City is no pushover with Andy Reid and company coming off another impressive season.

The Chiefs went 12-4 last year and won the AFC West division title before losing the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs. Kansas City is expected to be a force to be reckoned with once again and could give New England some competition in Week 1, especially if Houston and the defense are able to get to Brady consistently.
