LeSean McCoy, despite being listed as questionable, is expected to play in the Kansas City Chiefs' highly-anticipated Week 3 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. But with the veteran running back still bothered by an ankle sprain suffered in his new team's victory over the Oakland Raiders last Sunday, don't expect expect him to play a major role.

According to ESPN's Adam Teicher, Kansas City will be “cautious” with McCoy on Sunday.

“LeSean McCoy appears he will be ready to play but the Chiefs are likely to be cautious about overloading him. McCoy was on the injury report this week with a sprained ankle.”

Fellow veteran Damien Williams, with whom McCoy has split backfield duty throughout the first two weeks of the regular season, won't play against the Ravens after incurring a knee injury versus the Raiders. Expect rookie fifth-rounder Darwin Thompson to see more playing time in Week 3, as well as sophomore running back Darrel Williams. Both players were poised to play a bigger role for the Chiefs before they signed McCoy earlier this month.

McCoy has yet to make a major impact for Kansas City despite seemingly emerging as Andy Reid's preferred running back less than three weeks after he joined the team. He has 21 rushes for 104 yards thus far, leading the Chiefs in yardage, but has yet to find the end zone and managed just 23 yards on 11 carries in Week 2. Williams hasn’t been able to get going as a runner, either, beset by the inability of Kansas City’s offensive line to manage a consistent push at the point of attack.

The Chiefs and Ravens, both 2-0, kickoff from Arrowhead Stadium at 1:00 p.m. EST.
