The Kansas City Chiefs will enter Sunday evening's contest as a three-point favorite over the New England Patriots. However, the AFC's No. 1 seeded team will surprisingly be without standout offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, according to Pro Football Talk.

Despite not finding himself on the team's injury report this week, Duvernay-Tardif won't be able to suit up as the Chiefs attempt to reach the Super Bowl under the direction of both head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 27-year-old Duvernay-Tardif was widely expected to play all week long after Kansas City notably removed him from the franchise's injured reserve list. Duvernay-Tardif has been battling back from a broken leg while the battle now remains ongoing with a potential trip to the Super Bowl on the line at Arrowhead Stadium.

While Duvernay-Tardif certainly headlines the team's list of inactive players, the Chiefs will have the good fortune of receiving the services of oft-injured defensive back Eric Berry, who will be active against the heralded Patriots. In addition to Duvernay-Tardif, the Chiefs will be without linebacker Dorian O'Daniel, offensive lineman Kahlil McKenzie, wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, offensive lineman Jimmy Murray, tight end Deon Yelder and linebacker Tanoh Kpassagnon.

On the other sideline, the Patriots' inactives include defensive linemen Ufomba Kamalu, Keionta Davis, Danny Shelton, and Deatrich Wise in addition to defensive back Duke Dawson, tight end Stephen Anderson and offensive lineman James Ferentz.

The Chiefs lost at the hands of the Patriots earlier this season with the game taking place in New England.
