Super Bowl LIV is only moments away, and the Kansas City Chiefs are eager to play for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. As expected, LeSean McCoy is inactive for the Super Bowl.

Chiefs reporter BJ Kissel released the final list of players who will miss out on playing the biggest game of the season, and McCoy was on the list:

LeSean McCoy was also inactive for the AFC Championship Game and wound up only playing one snap in the postseason. This certainly has to be disappointing for McCoy, but he's still hoping his Chiefs can win it all.

The 31-year-old was a decent backup option for Damien Williams this season, rushing for a total of 465 yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries. He also racked up 181 receiving yards and one catching touchdown.

However, his touches from now on will only continue to decline as the explosive athleticism that served him well during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills has departed him. Moreover, this may become the only time in his otherwise successful career that he gets to play in the Super Bowl.

However, McCoy has expressed his interest in playing one more season after this, so perhaps he'll get another shot in 2021.
