Kansas City Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy suffered an ankle injury during the latter stages of his team's Week 2 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and is having an MRI on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The good news is that the injury does not appear to be significant.

McCoy carried the ball 11 times for 23 yards during the win.

The Chiefs signed McCoy shortly before the regular season began after the Buffalo Bills cut the veteran. He was very impressive in his season debut last week, totaling 81 rushing yards off of 10 attempts.

McCoy is coming off of a miserable 2018 campaign in which he rushed for just 514 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 3.2 yards per carry, by far the least productive year of his NFL career.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Pittsburgh, was originally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round (53rd pick overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

By McCoy's third season in the league, he was a Pro Bowler after racking up 1,309 yards and an NFL-leading 17 touchdowns on the ground while registering 4.8 yards per attempt. In addition, he hauled in 48 receptions for 315 yards and three scores, making a Pro Bowl appearance while also earning a First-Team All-Pro selection.

McCoy spent the first six years of his career with the Eagles before being traded to the Bills in March 2015. He made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons in Buffalo before his disastrous 2018 campaign.

Overall, McCoy has made six Pro Bowls while notching First-Team All-Pro honors twice.
