The Kansas City Chiefs have placed wideout Mecole Hardman on the reserve/COVID-19 list, per Field Yates of ESPN.

Last week, the Chiefs placed defensive tackle Chris Jones on the reserve/COVID-19 list after a staff member had tested positive for coronavirus.

The Chiefs still played their Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers despite the COVID-19 outbreak in the facility. KC won to improve to 8-1 on the season. They are atop the AFC West standings and in second place in the entire AFC.

Only the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-0) have a better record than the Chiefs.

In nine games this season, Mecole Hardman has 25 receptions for 395 yards and three touchdowns. The Chiefs selected him with the 56th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Georgia. In 25 games with Kansas City, Hardman has caught 51 balls for 933 yards and nine touchdowns in the regular season.

The Chiefs have Week 10 off as their bye week, so Hardman won't be missing a game. He could play in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders assuming he tests negative for COVID-19 during the practice week leading up to the game.

To no one's surprise, someone in the NFL every week has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The NFL knew this was going to happen, but they still went ahead with the season since there was too much money at stake.
