The Kansas City Chiefs are counting on Mecole Hardman to be a key part of the offense with Tyreek Hill out of the lineup, but for Hardman, he isn't trying to be the star wide receiver. Hardman has been talking a lot to Hill about how to improve his game and the biggest piece of advice he has received is to be himself.

“I’m always myself. I don’t try to clone anybody,” Hardman said via kansascity.com. “I just want to play my game and do what I’m capable of doing and not try to imitate anybody else. He’s a great player. Not too many people, if anybody, can do what he does on the field. I just want to be myself and do what I do.”

In the first game of the season, Hardman played 53 snaps, but the only pass that was thrown his way he dropped and that was very dissappointing.

Even with the drop, he felt it was a good experience because he is more comfortable on the field and he can go back and look at the tape to see what type of things he needs to improve.

“I got in there more than I thought I would,” Hardman said. “The good thing is I learned a lot from it. I can look at the film and build on it. (There are) just some little details that can get me better — like my pre-snap stuff before the play starts.”

The Chiefs need everyone to step up in Hill's absence, so it's going to be key that Hardman plays a big role on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
