The Kansas City Chiefs did not have a first-round pick in this year's NFL Draft, but with their first draft choice in the second round, they selected University of Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

Hardman is excited to get going with the Chiefs, saying that the team's offense is a good fit for him.

“The things coach [Andy] Reid [does] in this offense suit me well,” Hardman said, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. “I feel I can do a lot of things in the offense. I'm versatile. I feel wherever he needs me to go, I can go. Whatever he needs me to do I can do. So it's just up to him to see how he's going to use me.”

The 21-year-old was not incredibly productive on the collegiate level, as he is coming off of a junior campaign in which he hauled in 35 receptions for 543 yards and seven touchdowns.

However, Kansas City likes his potential as a field stretcher, as Hardman posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.33 seconds at the Scouting Combine.

Hardman first began seeing legitimate playing time at Georgia during his sophomore year, when he caught 25 passes for 418 yards and four scores.

With Tyreek Hill potentially out, the Chiefs might end up asking a lot from Hardman during his rookie season, and with a gunslinger like Patrick Mahomes under center, he may see a lot of opportunities.

Kansas City won 12 games and captured the AFC West division crown this past year, ultimately losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
