Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has lead the team to a 4-0 start and is doing so with a couple of his top offensive weapons out with injuries. While Mahomes has lead the offensive side of things, the Chiefs will get a boost on the defensive side of the ball with the return of cornerback Mo Claiborne.

Suspended for the first four games of the season due to violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the Chiefs held Claiborne off the active roster, but with his return, they were forced to cut someone else, offensive lineman Jeff Allen.

With the depth Kansas City hold at the offensive line position, Allen seemed like the most logical choice as Claiborne will help the Chiefs weak secondary. So far this season the Chiefs sit right in the middle of the pack in terms of air yards allowed but if they plan on becoming a solid all-around team that can put up points on their opponents' as well as defend, their chances at raising the Lombardi trophy will increase.

In his seven season in the league, Claiborne has totaled seven career interceptions with three of them coming in the last couple seasons with the New York Jets. With Bashaud Breeland a little banged up with a toe injury, Claiborne's return is coming at an opportune time for Kansas City.

Looking towards their matchup against the Colts this Sunday, Claiborne will look to make an impact right away as Jacoby Brissett has looked solid through four games.
