Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was seen wearing a protective boot in an Easter Sunday post shared by his fiancee, Brittany Matthews, together with their daughter on Sunday. The picture caught the attention of many as the public became curious about his condition including former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee.

Mahomes then came out with a positive response to shed light on his current situation, to the relief of Chiefs Kingdom.

Mahomes previously sustained the toe injury during the Chiefs' AFC Divisional Round tilt against the Cleveland Browns. He didn't get to finish the game but Kansas City still emerged victorious on a 22-17 victory to advance to the next round.

The 25-year-old Chiefs gunslinger continued to bear the pain as he played in the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills. Despite not being in full condition, Mahomes led his team to a dominating 38-24 triumph on their home turf.

Mahomes eventually ran out of luck as the injury slowed him down in their Super Bowl LV showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was evidently limping on the field for the most part of the game as his team succumbed to a 31-9 defeat.

According to Pro Football Talk, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is reportedly expecting Mahomes to participate in the team's training camp which will begin in early July. He is also projected to be ready to return to action by the end of their offseason program before the start of the 2021 NFL season.

As it turned out, Patrick Mahomes is already on the road to recovery in preparation for another tough campaign as he seeks to lead his team back to contention next season.
