The Kansas City Chiefs came away with a 30-6 drubbing of the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. However, they took a loss that was far more serious in their divisional win. They saw as their franchise quarterback, Patrick Mahomes had to leave the game with a kneecap injury that the training staff had to pop back into place.

The play came at the end of a quarterback sneak that had trainers help him off of the field. And now, they will be without last season's MVP for at least three weeks pending the MRI result.

The Texas Tech product has completed 147 of his 230 passes and leads the league in both passing yards (2,104) and passing touchdowns (14) with only one interception. He was a major reason for the Chiefs' offensive success and why they're currently 5-2 despite their defense's continued struggles.

He finished the game completing 10 of his 11 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. Backup Matt Moore played well in the absence of Mahomes, as he completed 10 of his 19 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs offense has been banged up this season. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins missed his second straight game due to a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill only recently made his return after a shoulder injury. Hill had three catches for 74 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos.

It's uncertain as to how much this will affect the Chiefs offense in the duration of Mahomes' recovery, but the Chiefs will see with how well they respond after this critical loss. This could have a lot of AFC playoff implications riding on it depending on how long the All-Pro quarterback will be out for in the coming weeks.
